What’s the difference between a hair topper and a wig?
A topper covers part of your head, usually the part or crown, and blends with your own hair. Because it’s removable, you can wash your hair and scalp well, and your scalp gets to breathe. A wig covers your whole head and is best when hair loss is more widespread.
Will people be able to tell I’m wearing a topper?
Not when it’s matched and blended well. Each topper is made in a custom size, from small crown coverage to a larger piece that covers your part or much of your head. I color-match and cut each piece on you so it moves and parts like your natural hair.
Can I take my topper or wig off at night?
Yes. Both are made to go on in the morning and come off at the end of the day, so you’re always in control.
Will a topper damage my natural hair?
Hair health comes first. I choose attachment methods that are gentle on fine hair and show you how to wear your piece without stress on your own strands.
My hair is growing back after chemo. Which option is right for me?
Regrowth after chemo can be too thick for mesh integration, but not long or full enough for extensions alone. A clip-on topper, sometimes paired with extensions, is a nice blend: it adds coverage, and because it comes off, you can wash your scalp and hair well. A wig can also give you full coverage while your hair grows. We’ll decide together in your consultation.
When should I start thinking about a medical wig?
If you’re starting chemo, the first few weeks are a good time to begin planning and ordering your wig, because once shedding starts, hair can fall out quickly. A wig can also help while your hair is growing back.
How long does it take to get my topper or wig?
It can take anywhere from 2 weeks to 60 days, depending on your custom piece. We’ll go over your timeline during your consultation.
